Real work, early

Our legal assistants draft pleadings, manage files and attend court. They are not kept on photocopying. The people on our team were progressing live litigation, corporate and commercial matters within their first year.

Breadth, not a silo

We are deliberately built as one firm. You will not be locked into a single practice area before you have had the chance to find out what you are good at.

Supervision that is actually available

Partners here carry their own files and sit with the team. Questions get answered the same day, not queued behind a formal supervision structure.

Room to keep studying

Bar Course, LLM, tax, governance, IP: our partners have all kept studying while practising, and the firm works around it. Two of our team are progressing LDC studies right now.

Who we look for

We hire for judgement and character first.

Technical knowledge can be taught and will keep changing throughout your career. The things we cannot teach are how you treat people, whether your word holds, and whether you can be trusted with something that matters. Those are what we assess.

An LLB and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, or currently working toward one.
Writing that is clear enough for a client to act on without a second explanation.
The judgement to tell a client what they need to hear rather than what they want to hear.
Genuine interest in the commercial reality behind a file, not just the legal question.
Discretion: much of what crosses our desks is confidential and sensitive.
A record of finishing what you start.

We read and respond

We reply to every application. If your profile fits something we are working toward, we will say so; if it does not, we will tell you that too rather than leave you waiting.

A conversation, then a task

Shortlisted candidates meet a partner and complete one short practical exercise, usually a drafting or research task close to the work you would actually do.

We accept applications on a rolling basis. We do not always have a formal vacancy advertised, but we keep a file of people we would like to work with, and return to it first whenever the firm grows. If that is you, write to us.
